Residential use project, primarily, except for the ground floor. The proposal was made in the Nápoles neighborhood of Mexico City with the intention of replacing a building that was severely damaged in the September 19th earthquake of 2017. The property consists of Ground Floor + 8 levels to reach a total height of 32.50 meters and have a total construction area of 4,400 square meters above sidewalk level. With a total of 29 residences, it covers more than 100% of the affected area to offer a profitable project to the client, with apartments ranging from 90m² to 126m². On the ground floor, there will be 155m² designated for commercial use with the intention of creating a common area between pedestrians and residents.
The building was designed based on the abstraction of the most important characteristics of the monarch butterfly, which applies not only to the architectural aspect but also to the structural solution. The structure is mixed, composed of reinforced concrete walls along with a steel frame system to ensure stability in the event of an earthquake. (Project developed with Irene Esteve Diez in 2018).
Proyecto de uso residencial en su mayor parte con excepción de la planta baja. La propuesta se realizó en la colonia Nápoles de la Ciudad de México con la intención de reemplazar un edificio que fue severamente dañado en el sismo del 19S en el año 2017. El inmueble cuenta con PB + 8 niveles para alcanzar una altura total de 32.50m y contar con un total de 4,400m2 de construcción sobre nivel de banqueta. Con un total de 29 viviendas se contempla mas del 100% de lo afectado para ofrecer un proyecto rentable al cliente con departamentos que van desde los 90m2 hasta los 126m2. En la planta baja se ofrecerán 155m2 para comercio con la intención de crear una zona común entre el transeúnte y el residente.
El edificio se planteó partir de la abstracción de las características más importantes de la mariposa monarca donde no solo se aplican para la parte arquitectónica sino también para la solución estructural. La estructura es mixta ya que se compone de muros de concreto armado junto con un sistema de marcos de acero para garantizar la estabilidad en caso de sismo. Location
The project is conceptualized in the heart of the Napoles neighborhood, just a few meters from the famous World Trade Center and close to major roads accommodating heavy vehicular traffic.
Structure
The main structure of the building is supported by load-bearing walls located around the perimeter and at the central part of the tower. In a hybrid construction approach, steel frames are connected to these walls to support the weight of the project.

The space distribution features a mirrored layout with a central circulation core on each floor. This arrangement ensures that all units enjoy unobstructed views.
Architectural section
The section illustrates the layout of the building, showcasing residential levels on the upper floors, communal spaces on the ground floor, and two levels of basement parking. The service stairs extend to the roof and are oriented towards Altadena Street.
